By Bus

There are many ways to get to Koh Chang by bus. The air-conditioned blue and white government-licensed buses tend to be more reliable than the coaches from Khao Sarn’s famous backpacker area.

The government licensed buses to depart from the Eastern Bus terminal Ekamai and the Northern Bus terminal Mo Chit. The journey will take 5-6 hours. Buses depart frequently, and the last bus is around 10.30 pm.

By Car

Unlike some of the other popular east coast islands in Thailand, it is possible to drive your car to Koh Chang. Two ferries provide easy access to Koh Chang Island. The distance from Bangkok to the ferries is only 310 kilometres (about 4 hours drive).

The Ferry

If you do not have a car or minibus, you will have to use the public white ‘shared taxis’, which are locally known as Song Teaw. When the ferry arrives at the island, you will typically find several shared taxis waiting for you at the ferry point. Although the fees are not permanently fixed, the trip to our location at White Sand Beach should be 50 baht per person. The last ferry is at 7 pm.
